There we go, finally the 22nd edition of Eurochocolate, the international chocolate festival that will take place in Perugia from October 16th to October 25th, is about to start. It’s an unmissable event for chocolate lovers, who will arrive thousands at a time like every year in this Umbria’s town to satisfy their taste buds.
You should know, in fact, that Eurochocolate is Italy’s most important event as far as the Italian and international chocolate-making tradition go and these can be appreciated thanks to actual degustation journeys, events and shows.
Gourmands will have the chance of tasting many tasty chocolate treats brought by artisanal and industrial producers, who will propose their products in equipped exhibition spaces in Perugia’s old town center.
Among the greatest appointments, there is definitely the sculptures show, actual artworks obtained by chocolate masters from 1 cubic-meter wide chocolate block, after hours upon hours of work in front of the visitors’ eyes.
Eugenio Guarducci, Eurochocolate’s president as well as founder back in 1993, wants to highlight the fact that there are many news this year. Starting from the chosen theme “Mustachoc” which binds the great and eternal fascination for mustaches with the just as eternal passion for chocolate.
Maximum expression of this approach, which might seem a bit far-fetched at first, is not only the event’s claim “da leccarsi i baffi” (which literally means “to lick one’s moustache” and translates as “mouthwatering”), but also one of this year’s main attractions: the world’s biggest moustache entirely made of chocolate. You will find it in Piazza IV Novembre, in Perugia.
While you wait for the event to start, you can read Eurochocolate’s complete program for 2015.
All the best!
